Our Business Working for Improving the Environment
Simpert Technology Inc. (“Simpert”) is an engineering company and system integrator based in Baltimore, Maryland USA. We provide a comprehensive range of technologies, products and solutions aiming at improving the environment and energy efficiency for the industries.
Our core business is to introduce the "Green Coal Solutions™" to the coal users including utilities, steel and cement industries to improve the fuel efficiency and reduce the pollutant emission and Greenhouse Gases including CO2, SO2, NOX and ash. Green Coal Solutions™ currently apply the special formulated enzyme on the coal before combustion to alter its characteristics for enhancing its fuel efficiency and reducing pollutants during combustion. Green Coal Solutions™ provides our customers a complete solution which include supplying the enzyme to treat the coal, providing performance engineering & consultation services and real-time operation monitoring & supports to optimize the plant performance on energy saving and emission reduction.
Our business objective is to change the coal from "black & dirty" to "greener & cleaner" by improving the fuel efficiency and reducing the pollutant emission. The Green Coal Solutions™ addresses the twin goals of improving generating efficiency while minimizing harmful emissions which can be classified as a “clean coal technology.” The improvement in coal combustibility as a result of treatment with a nano enzyme for coal and plant operation optimization has demonstrated the following benefits:
A 5% – 15% reduction in coal consumption A 10% – 20% reduction in combustion emissions (SO2, NOX) A 5% - 15% reduction in combustion emissions (CO2) A reduction in SO2 emission control FGD related consumables (limestone etc.) A reduction in NOX emission control SCR related consumables (ammonia etc.) A reduction in fly ash- An improvement in boiler tubes hot corrosion
Less scale on boiler tube and especially on the gas passes heat exchanger tubes Longer soot-blowing intervals A reduction of unburned carbon in fly ash (LOI) allowing it to become an economic by-product (CCP) Reduction of coal degradation during shipment and storage (if applied at the source) Due to less consumption of the coal, the physical quantities of pollutants from the coal including antimony, arsenic, beryllium, cadmium, chlorine, chromium, cobalt, fluorine, lead, manganese, mercury, nickel, phosphorus and selenium are significantly reduced
In financial terms, the benefits are driven by the following:
Energy efficiency improvement (less coal consumed per steam generated) Carbon credits from emissions reductions (CO2, SO2, NOX). For example the Green Coal Solutions™ can reduce 3 tons of CO2 for every ton of coal saved as a result of improved boiler efficiency Environmental related green energy tax credits, and Other operational related benefits (less sorbents such as limestone, lime or ammonia etc., longer boiler tube life)For a nominal 600 MW coal-fired power station will consume approximately 1.5 million tons of bituminous coal per year. An improvement of 8% in coal consumption will save 120,000 tons of coal per year. The saving in coal will generate less GHG which reduces 300,000 tons CO2 per year for a 600 MW coal-fired power plant.
