Simpert Technology Inc. (Simpert) is an engineering company and system integrator based in Baltimore, Maryland USA. We provide a comprehensive range of products, technologies, solutions and services aiming in optimizing the plant performance for energy saving and emission reduction. Our core business is to introduce the Green Energy Solutions™ (GES) to the utilities, steel, cement and chemical industries who are consuming significant amount of fossil fuel (coal, oil and natural gas) for energy producing. The objectives of Simpert GES are to improve the fuel efficiency and reduce the combustion emission including CO2, SO2, NOX, ash and toxic waste from coal combustion.
Simpert Green Energy Solutions GES consists of the following three solutions:
1. Green Fuel Solutions (GFS)
Green Fuel Solutions (GFS) applies the specially formulated bio enzyme (Enzergy™) on the liquid or solid fuel before combustion to alter its characteristics biologically which enhances fuel combustibility during combustion. Enzergy™ improves fuel combustion efficiency, equipment thermal efficiency and ultimately improves the boiler or furnace efficiency which consumes less fuel and air for generating the same amount of energy. Not only the CO2, SO2 and NOX emission are reduced by consuming less fuel, the bio reaction of Enzergy™ on fuel under favorable operation conditions will also reduce the production of SO2 and NOX in emissions. The GFS business objective is to change the fuel to become greener, cleaner and easy to combust which results in the fuel efficiency improvement and emission reduction.
2. Plant Performance Optimization Solutions (PPOS)
The Plant Performance Optimization Solutions (PPOS) applies the advanced information technology & engineering practices which provide real-time plant process monitoring, performance analysis and operation supports. The objective of PPOS is to optimize the plant performance, minimize the unplanned shutdowns and improve the plant operational safety. Simpert’s sister company, Applied Visual Solutions, Inc. (AVS), provides a comprehensive range of Engineering and Information Technology Solutions with services aimed at improving the operational integrity, asset performance, customer service, and energy efficiency systems for the utility, manufacturing and process industries.
3. Energy Recovery Solutions (ERS)
Rising fuel and electric costs, along with global warming concerns have changed the way industrial facilities view energy consumption. Process equipment and control systems that were installed several years ago may not reflect the energy conscious designs available today. Analyzing these systems to determine energy reduction opportunities can be a very valuable practice. The Energy Recovery Solutions (ERS) applies the thermal engineering practices and use the specialty equipment and devices with high heat transfer capabilities to maximize the recovery of any reusable energy. By recovering such significant amounts of waste heat, a dramatic increase in fuel savings can be achieved. Our GreenGen™ System is to install the fossil fuel based co-generation or tri-generation facilities that simultaneously produce electricity, cooling (e.g. chilled water) and/or heating (e.g. steam, hot water) for supplying the needed energy to the plants or commercial buildings.
For a nominal 600 MW power station firing bituminous coal, it will consume approximately 1.5 million tons of coal per year. An improvement of 5% in coal consumption will save about 75,000 tons of bituminous coal per year. The saving in coal will generate less GHG plus reduce about 187,500 tons of CO2 emissions per year.
